As funding for sustainability and environmental work declines at the National level, your local support is needed now more than ever. In 2025, Renew Rocktown began building the foundation for an active sustainability and equity focused non-profit, dedicated to leading programs and projects that help people and planet thrive. We brought on Everett Brubaker as our inaugural Executive Director, and we received two grant awards to support capacity building and our energy efficiency program. With your support, we can do even more.
In 2026, we look forward to:
- Launching our Collaborative Energy Efficiency Program: ‘HR Energy Check’ will provide no-cost energy audits, home energy improvements, and referral to related programs and resources. Your support can help us lower utility bills, improve housing, and decrease emissions for more households in the Valley.
- Creating an Online Sustainability Hub: We are developing an online sustainability and advocacy hub where local organizations, businesses, and residents can connect, access resources, see upcoming events, and find ways to take action and get involved in the community.
- Exploring Partner Programs with the City of Harrisonburg: From tree stewardship to expanded composting for residents and businesses, there are ample opportunities to partner with the City of Harrisonburg on impactful and needed efforts.
- Hosting the 2nd Annual Earth Day Luncheon: We are excited to welcome over 100 local environmental champions April 24 (including you!) to celebrate our community’s power, connect the dots on issues that matter, and build new pathways for collaboration and action.
Your donation allows us to launch these initiatives and more in Harrisonburg and Rockingham. We can’t do this without your support!
